New habits

Today is the day, the end of a new day where I have waved goodbye to old ways and began new ways with hope and good intentions! A new year. So bear with me while I  get the hang of it and hopefully along the way I will discover whatever it is I am intended to through this new habit.
It is my promise to myself that I keep a journal, a gratitude journal. Not original I know but worthwhile I believe. Today, today I am grateful for......cousins. We have enjoyed the most glorious couple of days out and about, picnicking, playing, laughing, learning and sharing with extended family on a Christmas visit from England. The children have adored each other and it has been a joy to see, a blessing for us all and gave me cause to reflect on how special and unique cousins are. More connected than friends in a special, family idiosyncratic kind of way without all the baggage that siblings and parents bring to the party. At least that is my experience and one I have been privy to witness in the next generation these past two carefree days.
